I’m Daniella D’Cruz - a coffee, wine and gin lover and a mother of two.

My artistic journey is a relentless search for calm amidst the chaos of life. Since entering motherhood, I have found solace in art, particularly through the process of creating still life paintings. This meditative practice allows me to focus on simplicity and find beauty in the everyday.
Born and raised in the UK, then spending 12 years living in Auckland, I finally settled in Brisbane back in 2015.
Fond memories of my youth are echoed within the palette and subjects of my work and my influences include Morandi, Picasso and the vibrant printmaking of Warhol. 

My style exists at the intersection of abstract and realism, with a contemporary illustrative feel.
This year, I am primarily focused on still life compositions with a pop-art vibe. 

Each work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and appreciate the simple pleasures. Bringing pattern and colour into everyday spaces and reminding us that not everything needs to be perfect to be beautiful.

There’s nothing still about my life. That’s the irony in my work.
